From community signals to documented action.

Abstract: How can a health programme listen to community rumours about vaccines, and act on them, without depending on outside support? In The Gambia, the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), the Directorate of Health Education and Promotion, regional teams and Swiss TPH co-designed LISTEN. Field staff report rumours, questions and service concerns through Telegram, including oral and local-language rumours that online monitoring would miss. Each report becomes a case that regional managers review, prioritise and assign, and the response is tracked through to completion. It all runs on tools the programme already owns, with no new software licences, and decisions stay with people rather than algorithms. The poster shows how the workflow was built and handed over to EPI. Its central lesson for global health cooperation is that ownership and maintainability may matter as much as technological sophistication.
