Integrating Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Modules into Traditional Master of Business Administration Core Curricula to Enhance Modern Business Education and Leadership Readiness

Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: : The paradigm of modern commerce has shifted irreversibly, driven by the exponential proliferation of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and disruptive technological innovations. Traditional Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs, historically anchored in static case methodologies and compartmentalized functional silos (e.g., finance, marketing, operations, and strategic management), face mounting pressure to bridge the gap between legacy pedagogy and contemporary industry demands. This paper examines the imperative for seamlessly embedding AI and innovation modules into core MBA curricula. By analyzing the systemic transition of AI from an experimental peripheral tool to an enterprise-wide operational architecture, this study outlines a comprehensive framework for cultivating digitally fluent, ethically grounded, and change-ready business leaders. We propose a holistic curriculum redesign that transcends isolated technical electives, infusing data literacy, algorithmic decision-making, prompt engineering, and human-centric innovation management directly into core business courses. Furthermore, the paper addresses institutional barriers, faculty readiness, and the delicate equilibrium between technical proficiency and foundational emotional intelligence. Ultimately, this research posits that modernizing graduate business education through structured AI and innovation integration is essential for safeguarding the societal relevance, practical efficacy, and leadership readiness of future executives.
