Improving Professors' Work–life Balance Through Effective Workload Management and Human Resource Management Practices

Abstract: The thesis examines how effective workload management and human resource management practicescan improve the work–life balance of university professors. The dynamics of the student–staff ratio in Uzbekistan in2021/2022–2025/2026 are analysed as an indicator of the workload pressure on faculty members. On the basis of the jobdemand–control model, work/family border theory and research on recovery from work, a set of workload managementprinciples and HR practices that support balance is proposed, together with indicators for monitoring their effect.
