Design of a Novel Automated Machine for Roll Towel-Based Seed Germination Analysis

Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: Seed germination testing is a crucial procedure in agriculture, ensuring both seed viability and quality for large-scale production. Conventional roll towel methods, although effective, are labor-intensive, inconsistent, and susceptible to human error. The proposed system introduces an automated precision-embedded machine designed to enhance the evaluation of seed germination using a rolled towel. The novel automated system incorporates cutting-edge automation technologies, such as programmable controls, motorized mechanisms, and real-time monitoring, to streamline seed placement, towel folding, rolling, and securing processes with remarkable accuracy and consistency. By removing human reliance, the framework significantly decreases error rates, enhances throughput, and ensures reproducibility in large-scale testing operations. In addition, the incorporation of real-time data monitoring provides actionable insights into germination performance, positioning it as a potent tool for agricultural research, seed quality assurance, and production optimization. This groundbreaking approach transforms the roll towel test, providing a scalable, efficient, and precise solution to contemporary agricultural challenges.
