Abstract: This The IPAS learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN 57 Padang Sappa still need improvement, particularly in understanding food chains, the roles of producers, consumers, and decomposers, and feeding relationships among living things. This condition is associated with learning that is still dominated by lectures and has not optimally utilized concrete teaching aids. This study aimed to examine the use of a simple food chain diorama, describe students’ learning outcomes before and after instruction, and analyze its effect on the IPAS learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN 57 Padang Sappa. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 55 students, including 25 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class. Data were collected through learning outcome tests in the form of pretests and posttests, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics through an Independent Samples t-Test with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics 25. The results showed that the mean pretest score was 56.00 for the experimental class and 56.33 for the control class, indicating relatively similar initial abilities. After the treatment, the mean posttest score in the experimental class increased to 82.20, while the control class reached 65.50. The N-Gain analysis showed a score of 0.6034 or 60.34% for the experimental class, categorized as moderate, while the control class obtained 0.2145 or 21.45%, categorized as low. The posttest Independent Samples t-Test yielded a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference in learning outcomes between the experimental and control classes. Therefore, it can be concluded that using a simple food chain diorama as a teaching aid had a significant effect on the IPAS learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN 57 Padang Sappa.
