Abstract: Background: Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) in pregnant women is a nutritional problem that may affect maternal and fetal health. Maternal age and pregnancy interval are factors that should be considered during pregnancy. Cases of CED among pregnant women are still reported in the working area of Cimalaka Public Health Center, highlighting the need to identify factors associated with this condition. Purpose: This study aimed to determine the relationship between maternal age and pregnancy interval and the occurrence of Chronic Energy Deficiency among multiparous pregnant women at Cimalaka Public Health Center. Methods: This study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 223 multiparous pregnant women. The relationships between the variables were analyzed using the Chi-square test. Results: Of the 223 respondents, 141 (63.2%) were in the non-risk age category, 191 (85.7%) had an ideal pregnancy interval, and 52 (23.3%) experienced CED. A significant relationship was found between maternal age and CED (p = 0.019), as well as between pregnancy interval and CED (p = 0.001). Conclusion: Maternal age and pregnancy interval were significantly associated with CED among pregnant women at Cimalaka Public Health Center. These factors should be considered in efforts to detect and prevent CED early in pregnancy.
