Abstract: This paper examines the ego of being human as a possible foundation of collective human identity and other expressions of ego. It investigates how identification with being human may shape the ego of thinking, imagination, creativity, intellect, emotions, superiority, uniqueness, and centrality. Through phenomenological reflection, the paper questions the normalised assumption that humanity occupies a privileged position in existence. It explores the relationship between human identity, anthropocentrism, collective consciousness, and human exceptionalism, inviting direct observation rather than imposing conclusions or prescribing another ideal.
