Edukasi Pencegahan Bullying melalui Sosialisasi Karakter Positif di Sekolah Dasar

Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Bullying in elementary schools can appear through ridicule, hurtful nicknames, exclusion, intimidation, or repeated actions that disturb children's sense of safety. Early prevention is therefore necessary because students are still developing social awareness, emotional control, and habits of interacting with peers. This community service program aimed to strengthen students' understanding of bullying and promote positive character as a practical basis for respectful relationships at SDN 08 Sungai Geringging. The activity was conducted on 9 June 2026 through participatory socialization that combined simple explanations, contextual examples, guided questions, reflection, and reinforcement of positive behavior. Data were collected qualitatively through observation, field notes, documentation, and students' verbal responses during the learning process. The implementation showed that students became more able to distinguish ordinary disagreements from repeated harmful behavior, identify forms of verbal and social bullying, and mention safe responses when witnessing inappropriate treatment. Students also began to connect positive character with concrete actions such as speaking politely, respecting differences, refusing to join ridicule, supporting friends, and reporting concerns to trusted adults. The main contribution of this program lies in translating anti-bullying principles into simple character-based messages that are relevant to elementary school experiences and can be continued through classroom routines. The activity concludes that participatory socialization can provide an initial foundation for building a safer, more caring, and respectful school environment when reinforced consistently by teachers, families, and students.
