Abstract: This paper analyzes the regional opportunities for developing the digital economy in Uzbekistan. Attention is focused on digital infrastructure, communication and informatization services, IT services and the digital divide between regions. Based on official statistics, the existing potential of the regions for the digital economy is assessed comparatively. The analysis substantiates the view that regional digital development should be organized not on the basis of a single model but with regard to each region’s economic specialization, population and business potential, and infrastructure capabilities.
