Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of communication ethics on students’ verbal bullying behavior at SMP S Nusantara Bandar Lampung. The background of this study is based on the occurrence of verbal bullying in the school environment, including insults, degrading nicknames, mockery, and threats that may disrupt students’ comfort in social interactions. Communication ethics is an important aspect of fostering respectful interaction and preventing verbal bullying among students. This study employed a quantitative approach using a deskiptif method. The research subjects consisted of 76 students of SMP S Nusantara Bandar Lampung, selected through a total sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews. The data were analyzed using frequency distribution analysis, prerequisite tests, and simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 27. The results showed that communication ethics had a negative and significant effect on students’ verbal bullying behavior, with a regression coefficient of -0.391, a t-value of -4.682, and a significance value of 0.002. The coefficient of determination of 22.8% indicated that communication ethics accounted for 22.8% of the variation in verbal bullying behavior, while the remaining 77.2% was associated with other factors outside the scope of this study. Therefore, higher levels of communication ethics among students were associated with a lower tendency to engage in verbal bullying.
