Abstract: Given that the present day is an age of advanced technology and genetic modification is a major achievement of science, this article examines the effect of genetically modified foods on living organisms as one of the important issues. Research shows that long-term consumption of modified products may in some cases lead to changes in metabolic processes. In the course of the study, the guinea pigs developed a dependence on genetically modified products, gained weight, showed weakness and aggression, and developed defects in their internal organs; it was thus established that these products have a negative effect on the animal body. Based on the results of the study, genetically modified products were found to have an adverse effect on the internal organs of guinea pigs. Studying the effect of genetically modified products on the animal body is not only a topical issue in biology and genetics but also an important line of research aimed at providing humankind with safe and sustainable food.
