The Constitutional Knowledge Reactor

Type: article
Abstract: Knowledge systems traditionally function as repositories: they store, retrieve, and occasionally analyze information. However, these systems rarely possess mechanisms for governed knowledge mutation, structural discovery, and lineage-preserving semantic evolution. As a result, knowledge infrastructures tend to accumulate instability through semantic drift, fragmentation, and loss of provenance. This paper introduces the Constitutional Knowledge Reactor (CKR): an operational architecture implementing the Governed Knowledge Loop through a constitutional mutation interface, lineage-preserving semantic artifacts, and graph-topological discovery mechanisms. The system treats knowledge as a governed semantic substrate in which new structures emerge through crystallization, corpus restructuring, and frontier exploration. The architecture is realized through a command-surface governance system that regulates all mutations to the knowledge corpus. Structural analysis identifies conceptual clusters, contradiction zones, and frontier regions in the semantic manifold, enabling recursive refinement of the knowledge system itself. The thesis is practical: knowledge infrastructure can be engineered as a reactive semantic environment where meaning evolves under explicit governance rather than accumulating through uncontrolled mutation. This architecture operationalizes the Governed Knowledge Loop and provides a foundation for stable semantic computing systems.
