Abstract: This study aims to improve students’ learning motivation in physical education (PJOK) through the application of the Ma Boy traditional game among fourth-grade students of SDN 256 Malimongeng. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were 31 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through observation sheets, a learning-motivation questionnaire, and documentation, and then analyzed using a descriptive quantitative percentage technique. The results show that the application of the Ma Boy traditional game can improve students’ learning motivation in physical education. The average motivation score increased from 65.5% in the pre-cycle to 78.4% in cycle I and 87.4% in cycle II. Classical completeness also increased from 38.71% in the pre-cycle to 96.77% in cycle I and reached 100% in cycle II. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Ma Boy traditional game is effective in improving students’ learning motivation in physical education.
