Abstract: The article presents the effect of sowing the soybean cultivar “Orzu” at three dates (20 June, 1 July and 10 July) and in six sowing patterns on the field germination of seeds, seedling survival and plant density at the end of the growing season under the conditions of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. When the seeds were sown on 20 June, field germination averaged 84.4%, whereas delaying sowing until 10 July reduced this indicator to 82.6%. At the same time, the proportion of seedlings lost during the growing season increased from 15.2% to 17.0%, and plant density at the end of the growing season decreased, on average, from 362.3 to 347.2 thousand plants per hectare. The highest field germination (85.0%) and seedling survival (86.0%) were recorded in the variant sown on 20 June under the 60×5-1 pattern.
