Development of a Hybrid Laser-autocollimation System for Calibration of Angle Artifacts and Inspection of Their Reflecting Surfaces
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: A modernized hybrid laser-autocollimation system intended for high-precision calibration of optical polygons and angle gauges is presented. A dual-channel optical configuration is proposed that enables simultaneous precision measurement of angular deviations based on the autocollimation principle and inspection of local surface irregularities and flatness deviations of reflecting surfaces (surface microrelief) using a wedged reference plate and defocused image registration. The paper discusses the metrological foundations of the plane angle unit, develops a mathematical model of the measurement process, and provides a detailed uncertainty budget for angle-block calibration measurements. The reported results correspond to the design and theoretical validation stage of the proposed system. Experimental evaluation of its metrological performance will be the subject of future investigations.
