Type: conference-paper
Abstract: This article examines the contemporary processes of digital transformation of the financial sector of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the context of the accelerated development of financial technologies (FinTech). The aim of the study is to identify the main trends in the digitalization of financial services, assess the opportunities created by the development of FinTech, and determine the risks accompanying the transformation of the financial sector. The information base of the study consists of official statistical data from the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, materials from international organizations, and recent academic research in the field of digital finance. The study employs comparative, statistical, and structural analysis methods, as well as an analysis of the dynamics of remote banking service indicators. The results demonstrate a significant expansion of digital channels for interaction between banks and their customers. The number of users of remote banking services increased from 10.15 million at the beginning of 2020 to 52.92 million at the beginning of 2025, reaching 74.18 million users by October 1, 2025 [1; 2; 3; 4; 5; 6]. At the same time, the development of digital financial technologies is accompanied by increasing requirements for cybersecurity, data protection, operational risk management, and financial literacy. The study shows that further development of FinTech in Uzbekistan should be based on a combination of technological innovation, expanded financial inclusion, and the formation of a sustainable risk-based regulatory framework.
