Abstract: The article analyzes the formation and stages of development of the Karakalpak State Puppet Theatre in connection with the work of its directors and stage designers. It summarizes the historical processes that paved the way for a professional company, the training of personnel in the 1980s, the establishment of the state theatre in 1990, the development of local directing and stage design experience, and the international and technological explorations of the contemporary period.
