Abstract: You can buy a lamp today that renders colour almost as well as a filament and runs at four to five times its efficiency. That part is solved and on the shelf. What you cannot do is find out whether the one in your hand flickers, what it puts back onto your wiring, or where the holes in its spectrum are. Those go unmeasured and unprinted, and they are the parts people actually feel. This record holds one paper on its own and is refreshed every couple of months.
