Independent-Run Electronic-Nose Dataset for Pork Adulteration Detection in Beef at Seven Concentration Levels
Year: 2026
Type: dataset
Abstract: This dataset contains electronic-nose measurements from three independent pork-adulteration experiments identified as A1, A2 and A3. The experiments were conducted on different experimental occasions using newly procured beef and pork. During each run, seven separate 250-g preparations were produced with pork contents of 0%, 10%, 30%, 50%, 70%, 90% and 100% by mass. Every preparation was measured for approximately 124 min, with one sensor record collected per minute. Consequently, every adulteration level has three independently prepared physical replicates across A1, A2 and A3. Data from the three experiments were merged into one file while retaining the Run_ID column. The combination of Run_ID and Adulteration_Class identifies one physical mixture preparation. Multiple rows sharing the same Run_ID and Adulteration_Class are repeated time-resolved measurements from that preparation and should not be interpreted as independent mixtures. Run_ID definition Run_ID: Identifier of the complete independent adulteration experiment. A1, A2 and A3 represent experiments conducted on separate occasions using newly procured meat and newly prepared mixtures. Within each run, the seven adulteration compositions were prepared as separate physical samples. The two datasets can still be linked in their Mendeley descriptions by stating that both were obtained using the same embedded electronic-nose platform.
