Base‐Promoted [3 + 3] Annulation: Synthesis of Dihydropyranocoumarins From Biomass‐Derived 4‐Hydroxycoumarins

Abstract: ABSTRACT We described here the base‐promoted [3+3] annulation of biomass‐derived 4‐hydroxycoumarins and 3‐iodo‐2‐(iodomethyl)prop‐1‐ene, affording rapid synthesis of dihydropyranocoumarins under mild condition. Moreover, other bisnucleophiles such as benzoylacetonitriles and 1,3‐dicarbonyl compounds were also suitable for this strategy, delivering corresponding O‐heterocycles in good efficiency.
