Abstract: Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that requires proper self-care management. However, self-care management is often influenced by psychological factors, such as anxiety, which can impact the patient's compliance in carrying out self-care. This study aims to determine the correlation between anxiety levels and self-care management among diabetes mellitus patients at the Endocrine Polyclinic RSUDZA Banda Aceh. Method: This research is an observational analytical study involving diabetes mellitus patients selected through accidental sampling. Data were collected using the DASS-42 questionnaire to measure anxiety levels and the DSMQ-R questionnaire to assess self-care management. The data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Spearman test to examine the correlation between anxiety levels and self-care management. Result: The majority of patients were female (58%) and aged between 56-65 years (42%). Most patients worked as housewives (35%) and had a Diploma IV/S1 education (35%). The duration of diabetes mellitus was mostly between 1-10 years (59%), with single injection therapy being the most common treatment (49%). Anxiety levels of patients were normal (52%), mild (7%), moderate (11%), severe (14%), and very severe (16%). The self-care management of patients was mostly inadequate (67%), while 33% managed their care adequately. Conclusion: Based on the Spearman test results, no significant correlation was found between anxiety levels and self-care management among diabetes mellitus patients at the Endocrine Polyclinic RSUDZA Banda Aceh.
