Abstract: Generative artificial intelligence (AI) changes commercial deception not simply by increasing the supply of false content, but by lowering the cost of producing signals that imitate endorsement, experience, expertise, identity, and local familiarity. This editorial frames commercial AI misinformation as a market information integrity problem in global marketing. We distinguish unintentional misinformation, intentional disinformation, model confabulation, malinformation, and synthetic content, identify five shifts in commercial deception, and introduce the Triadic Market Information Integrity Framework, which sets a five-stage information lifecycle against three layers of integrity assurance that ask what a representation is and where it came from, whether it can responsibly be believed and acted upon, and who must prevent or repair the harm across heterogeneous market, regulatory, platform, linguistic, cultural, and institutional settings. We establish what current evidence supports, specify guardrails for responsible global marketing, and set a multilevel research agenda. Consumer literacy, detection, or disclosure alone cannot protect global markets, which implies that layered assurance and accountable human ownership are required.
