Abstract: An experiment entitled “Effect of different polybag size on growth and development of bougainvillea (Bougainvillea spp.)” was conducted during the year 2025-26 at College of Horticulture, Dapoli, Dist. Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. The experiment was laid out in Factorial Randomized Block Design (FRBD) within a partially protected environment with three replications and eighteen treatment combinations. The experiment involved three polybag size (6” × 4”, 6” × 8”, and 9” × 11”) and six varieties (Pink Beauty, Singapore Red, Mahara, Gopal, Chitra and M.P.S.). The present investigation revealed that among three polybag sizes under study, the P2 (6” × 8”) recorded maximum sprouting percentage (73%) while P3 recorded highest plant height (75.22 cm), stem girth (21.34 mm), shoot length (46.60 cm), number of leaves (80.94) and leaf area (41.43 cm2). Findings revealed that in the interaction of polybag size and varieties P2V2 and P2V6 (polybag size 6” × 8” with variety Singapore Red and M.P.S. respectively) showed 92% and 90% of sprouting percentage respectively. The highest survival percentage by P2V2 (72%), plant height by P3V2 (75.22 cm), stem girth by P3V2 (23.99 mm) was recorded.
