Causality Loop: A Graph-Theoretic Approach to Primacy in Biology and Its Physical Limits (Version 2.0)

Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: This paper presents a comprehensive theoretical analysis of the Causality Loop concept, resolving the classical "chicken-and-egg" paradox by transitioning from linear temporal logic to graph-theoretic modeling. We demonstrate that in complex systems, primacy is not determined by a singular initial object (cause), but by an autocatalytic feedback loop between state transitions. The paper applies the Known/Unknown protocol to evaluate the scientific validity of causality loops across different domains. In biology, the autocatalytic loop is classified as Known, supported by the RNA-world hypothesis and Stuart Kauffman's autocatalytic sets. In linguistics, it is Disputed, reflecting the debate between linguistic determinism and universal grammar. In macro-physics, the loop is classified as Residue, as closed timelike curves violate the Second Law of Thermodynamics and the principle of causality. By explicitly defining these boundaries, we provide a rigorous framework for understanding circular causality without falling into pseudoscientific traps.
