Abstract: Research and news about Indian banking and NBFC lending changed at different speeds: research grew faster than research in general, and the news share fell; household searching rose and funding rounds fell since 2022. Activity is concentrated in a few places and firms. Failed checks are reported as failed. This paper compares how Indian banking and NBFC lending appears in research, news, search, company registers, funding announcements, app stores and patents, 2017-2026, within each source's time window. Banking and NBFC lending here covers banks and co-operative banks, NBFCs and housing finance companies, microfinance, digital and consumer lending, credit scoring, and the central bank's rates and rules as they reach lenders. It does not cover insurance, stock-broking or payments as such. Layer 1 gives exact counts under stated rules. Layer 2 reads sentences with fixed word templates, checked by an automated second reader (a small computer model, not a person).
