Evaluation of the Relationship Between Laboratory Biomarkers and Thrombotic Complications in Antiphospholipid Syndrome

Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: This article examines the relationship between laboratory biomarkers and thrombotic complications in patients with antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). Particular attention is given to the diagnostic and prognostic significance of lupus anticoagulant, anticardiolipin antibodies, and anti-beta-2-glycoprotein I antibodies. The study also considers the role of additional hemostatic parameters, including D-dimer, fibrinogen, and platelet count, in evaluating coagulation abnormalities. The importance of persistent antibody positivity, triple-positive antibody profiles, and clinical risk factors in identifying patients at increased risk of arterial and venous thrombosis is discussed. The findings highlight the importance of comprehensive laboratory assessment for improving thrombotic risk stratification and supporting individualized clinical management of patients with APS.
