Abstract: Neuronal networks can build up very complicate form \nas the period of neuronal culture. In order to analysis \nthese networks, electrical stimulation for firing action \npotential and neural signal recording of distributed \nadjacent neurons should be carried out, simultaneously. \nThis paper presents a system IC which can \nsimultaneously perform multichannel electrical \nstimulation and neural signal recording. The developed \nIC was composed of 16 independent current DACs \nwhich were synchronized by external control signals. \nAnalog PWM data receiver for setting stimulation \nparameters and stimulating electrode number was used \nfor microcontroller based automatic control. Recording \nsystems were implemented with discrete parts of amp, \nfilter, etc. Stimulation and recording were \nsimultaneously performed through planar type \nmicroelectrode arrays (MEA) that was neuron culture \nplate. Using presented system, we can continuously \nmonitor the evolving process of neuronal network \nwithin an incubation system.
