Study designs: Systematic Review, Meta-Analysis
Abstract: User involvement in the system design process and the final success of a system has been the subject of many studies. Conflicting results reported in those studies have not helped to resolve the issue. This study employs meta-analysis to systematically combine the results of many user involvement studies to see if the overall results are significant. In addition, the strength of the relationship between user involvement and system success is also developed. The dependent variables in the underlying studies were combined to form two global variables: attitude and reported behavior. All of the relationships between various types of involvement and different measures of success yielded significant results.
