Good Governance as a Counter Insurgency Agenda to Oppositional and Transformative Social Projects in International Law
Year: 1999
Type: article
Abstract: This article is one in a series in my current research project that critically examines a variety of post-debt crisis legal and economic reform proposals imposed upon sub-Saharan African economies resulting in two outcomes: first, in disabling governmental capacity to enhance social justice, and second, that in seeking to improve well being in Africa, proposals such as human rights are not effective because they do not challenge the underlying distribution of wealth and power in national and international society -which I identify as the most significant problems facing African countries.Other articles in the series include: Corruption and Donor Reform: Expanding the Promises and Possibilities of the Rule of Law as an Anti-Corruption Strategy in Kenya, CONN.J. INT'L L. (1999);
