Type: article
Abstract: Governance is a polysemous and ambiguous term. Authors present territorial governance’ state of the art, and suggest as new perspective on it based on an appropriate balance between public powers, market and civil society. In this way, governance is understood as reinforced (right) government —because the irreplaceable role of the State—, a more sophisticated practice of democracy, and an increasing leading role of civil society. They analyze current situation of governance in Europe, paying special attention to Spanish context by comparing analogies, deficits and institutional pathologies.
