Christian Onomastics: A Response to Frankfurter
Year: 2015
Type: article
Abstract: Christians in the 3rd and 4th centuries AD formed a separate social group and this is visible in the names they give to their children. Though they continue to give them traditional names, they also introduce new, mainly Biblical names, and this allows us to get some idea of the number of Christians in later Roman Egypt.
