Computerized Medical Records in a Private Practice

Abstract: This paper describes an online free text format microcomputer based medical records system. It incorporates a word processing front end to capture free text information, which is stored in a hierarchical data base. The information in the data base can be manipulated and searched in a flexible way. The system has been used for three years. It is presently operational in three offices.
