FH-Fc as a Pre-Exposure Prophylactic for Tickborne Disease

Description: Lyme disease, caused by multiple species of the spirochete Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato, is the most common tick-borne disease in the United States. Though acute illness is commonly treated by antibiotics, prolonged disease manifestations costs the U.S. health care system close to $4.8 billion a year. We are developing a pre-exposure prophylaxis to prevent LD in individuals who are at particularly high risk of infection.
