The development and application of tools to characterize the 4D nucleome
Description: PUBLIC HEALTH RELEVANCE: The proposed project creates improved tools to study the nature and impact of 3D chromatin structure. The application of these tools to study dynamic biological processes will improve our understanding of gene regulation in human cells. While applications proposed here will shed light on the mechanisms governing innate immune response, the general principles discovered by this method will improve our understanding of how cells regulate gene expression and how disruption of this regulation may impact a variety of disease states.
