Children's Social and Academic Competence: Integrating Genetically Informed and Prevention Research

Description: Project Narrative The proposed study will have an impact on future research by providing evidence for (a) the role of genetic influences in the development of positive parent and peer relationships, social skills, and academic competence; and (b) the potential for using genetically informed designs in conjunction with prevention science. Evidence from this proposal will advance the field of prevention science by refining conceptual and empirical models of environmental responses to genetically influenced characteristics, with the potential to guide future prevention research aimed at reducing the adverse effects of genetically influenced risk characteristics.
