Multimodal Mapping of Subcortical and Cortical Functional Network Disturbances in Focal Epilepsy
Description: Epilepsy is a common and devastating disorder that results in problems with alertness and cognition. This study will use functional magnetic resonance imaging as well as direct brain recordings in individuals with focal epilepsy to study how abnormal brain connections may affect various neural networks. Our goal is an improved understanding of brain network changes in focal epilepsy, which will lead to novel treatments to prevent the negative effects of this disorder.
