PKA and Epac1 inhibit TLR4 to protect the diabetic retina

Description: We have previously reported that β- ‐adrenergic receptors can reduce TLR4 in the diabetic  retina.  The goal of this proposal is the potential mechanisms by which PKA or Epac1 are  responsible for the β- ‐adrenergic regulation of TLR4.  Inhibition of TLR4 by either PKA or  Epac1 will likely lay the groundwork for new therapeutic development for diabetic  retinopathy.
