Mechanisms of Presynaptic Maintenance in C. elegans
Description: Project Narrative Synaptic connections are the basis of brain function, and these synapses need to be maintained throughout development and adulthood. This project will study the mechanisms that keep synaptic connections stable, by investigating how the components of the synapse are organized and regulated. Understanding how synapses are maintained will provide insight into how to protect synaptic connections in neurodegenerative diseases and during aging.
