Functional characterization of an enhancer RNA in cerebral ischemia
Description: Enhancer RNAs (eRNAs) are a new class of noncoding RNAs that play important roles in chromatin interactions and regulation of gene expression, but their significance during stroke is not known. In this project, we investigate the role of a recently identified stroke-induced eRNA in the adult cerebral cortex in order to understand its involvement in post-stroke brain damage. This work may help identify novel therapeutic targets against ischemic stroke.
