Collective entanglement witnesses enabling new discoveries and applications

Description: Collective entanglement witnesses represent the most general type of entanglement witnesses and also offer the best performance. Moreover, these witnesses are particularly suitable for deployment in quantum-optical communications networks. So far collective witnesses were predominantly used only to detect or quantify entanglement. We postulate that they are a much more versatile tool and propose to use them to efficiently detect other features of quantum states such as purity, classes of quantum states or the amount of noise. Furthermore, we propose to use machine learning to tailor new collective witnesses that focus on improved entanglement detection in a specific subset of quantum states or witnesses that are robust against imperfections in their implementation.
