AIDS Linked to the IntraVenous Experience (ALIVE) Study

Description: Many urban settings, like Baltimore, are grappling with a complex interplay of conditions that include not just HIV and substance use, but also chronic disease comorbidity. Findings from the long-standing AIDS Linked to the IntraVenous Experience (ALIVE) cohort study will contribute substantively to ending the HIV epidemic (EHE) goals nationally and locally by informing multi-component interventions to reduce the harms associated with injection drug use, improve HIV suppression, reduce incidence of HIV, hepatitis C and sexually transmitted infections while improving overall health and well-being for PWID across the lifespan.
