Abstract: Considering that the bibliography about the species of Psilocybe known from thestate of Oaxaca is dispersed, a synthesis on these mushrooms is presented. There arereported 31 taxa of Psilocybe from which only 4 are not hallucinogenic. The distribution andrelationships of the hallucinogenic species with 5 ethnic groups are discussed. Also a key ofidentification of all the species is presented
