Abstract: Weakly nucleophilic acceptors such as enol ethers can facilitate cycloaddition reactions with monohalocarbenoids. The high yields and stereoselection towards the more highly hindered adducts are interpreted by complexation of the oxygen atom of the substrate with the metal atom of the carbenoid.
