P 16.22: A novel methodology of 3D cervix imaging emphasizing the center reference point: a pictorial essay

Year: 2014
Type: conference-abstract
Abstract: We provide a novel methodology to reconstruct the morphology of the cervix using three-dimensional ultrasound tools. We describe the center reference point (CRP) as the primary tool to enhance assessment and believe that this methodology will yield a more accurate assessment of the cervix. In order to consistently demonstrate or measure any one pertinent point within the volume set on all three planes, the CRP must be fine-tuned to a specific location so that all three orthogonal planes place that structure at the AOI. Additionally, crucial to precise manipulation of the volume sets is the additional necessity to alter the X, Y and Z axes to further refine the volume set morphology. An additional tool that can be utilized to improve 3D volume assessment is the use of OMNI. This allows for visualization of any desired specific plane to be made through a volume set.
