Abstract: NGC 7027 is a planetary nebula which contains a considerable quantity of dust that affects its optical appearance. In the considered investigation, two-dimensional observations are used to study the variation in reddening by dust across the face of the nebula. Spectroscopic data are used to investigate the physical conditions and compare the observed relative line ratios with the predictions of Shields (1978) and Pequignot et al. (1978). Both the spectroscopic and two-dimensional in-focus observations were made with diode array systems. The observations were made at the Cassegrain focus of a 2.2-m and a 1.8-m telescope. A 1.2-m telescope was also employed.
