Abstract: Violence has always been aform of constitutive relation for the human race, but now more than ever it has been defined as one of the main "social problems" . In this article, a sociological approach will be taken to reveal the violence considered socially problematic. This , starting from the invi sible violences¡ concept , a proposal is made to overcome predominant rhetoric that always identifies the violent as "the others", to ask ourselves what violent behaviour really expresses, and the structural conditions existing behind it. The question as to whether violence - beyond its consideration as a problem - is also a symptom of a social conflict that remains hidden behind the term of deviated or anti-soc ial behaviour, is raised.
