Antimycotic Potency of Some Essential Oils in the Treatment of Induced Dermatomycosis of an Experimental Animal
Year: 2003
Type: article
Abstract: During screening of 20 essential oils against Epidermophyton floccosum and Microsporum gypseum, the test dermatophytes, the oils of Ocimum gratissimum and Trachyspermum ammi exhibited strong antidermatophytic properties. The ointments of the oils blocked dermatomycosis induced with guinea pigs, thereby indicating their efficacy as herbal treatments for the cure of dermatomycoses.
