Noise Properties of Microwave Phase Shifters Based on Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers
Year: 2010
Type: article
Abstract: In this paper, we present detailed modeling and experiments of the noise properties of a single-stage microwave phase-shifting element based on slow light propagation in a semiconductor optical amplifier. A wideband large-signal model is used to calculate the performance dependencies on gain, input power, and modulation frequency for the case where the red-shifted sideband at the amplifier output is suppressed.
