Métaphysique des idées et mystique des lettres : Leibniz, Böhme et la Kabbale prophétique
Year: 1996
Type: article
Abstract: Metaphysics of ideas and letter-mysticism : Leibniz, Böhme and the prophetic Kabbalah Leibniz, the great precursor of the Age of Enlightenment, purposes to establish the autonomy of the sciences by demonstrating the common source of philosophy and theology and their perfect harmony. The rationalism and the mysticism, the rational cognition and the inner light concur in the theory of a primordial language. This theory is the basis of Leibniz's universal language (constructed by the axioms of thought), which takes the place of the irretrievable Adamic language of the Bible. The prophetic Kabbalah of Abraham Abulafia and its Christian interpretations just as the Christian theosophy of Jakob Böhme (who also was influenced by Jewish mysticism) shape the historical access to the Leibnizian theory.
