Abstract: The timely report by Dr P B Price ( Physics Bulletin December 1985 p489) on the latest developments in the field of α-decay surprisingly fails to mention my name, although I was the first person to show α-decay as a spontaneous fission process. I published my first paper on the topic in 1977, years before others, in Pramana (1977 9 149), an Indian journal of physics with an international circulation, and which is well indexed by international abstracting bodies.
